Special Note: As a special benefit to homeschooling families I organized the videos on this site in a course format. I encourage you to use the material on this blog as a “basic” course. A great way to supplement these basic courses is to invest in the workbook. However if you really like my video lessons than you want to take my full TabletClass Math courses.

This course is designed for high school students after the completion of algebra 1. Because a good foundation and understanding of algebra is required for geometry. Students can expect to study a wide range of topics in geometry essential for more advance study in mathematics. Additionally, the course focuses on problem solving skills so it provides excellent preparation for college entrance tests such as the SAT and ACT.
Students will first learn about various basic concepts to include: points, lines, angles and planes. Next the course introduces the student to the study of logic which is the foundation of geometric proof. Students will learn about the role theorems and postulates play in geometry. Each respective chapter of the course focuses students on the essential topics of high school geometry. Numerous topics will be studied in depth to include: triangles, quadrilaterals, congruence and similarity, transformations, right triangles, trigonometry, circles, area and volume. Note: the course does teach and challenge students to write geometric proofs as it is a key skill in understanding the importance of logic in mathematics.
