The Distance and Mid-Point Formula

In this lesson I will be teaching you the Distance and Mid-Point formulas.  The Distance Formula finds the distance between two points (x, y) on the x/y plane.  For example if you plot the points (3, 8) and (12, 5) on the x/y plane and wanted to find the distance between the points you would use the Distance Formula.  If you wanted to find the location (x, y) that is halfway between the two points you would use the Mid-Point formula.  The Distance Formula is based on the Pythagorean Theorem and right triangles.  The Mid-Point Formula is simply the average of two (x, y) coordinates.  As in all topics you should take excellent notes and practice the skills as much as you can.
