In this chapter you will learn about solving equations. If I had to rank what is the most important algebra skill students need to master I would rank solving equations as number one. You see, the purpose of math is to help us solve problems. Algebra allows us to model the real world by using equations where the variable(s) represent a value we are trying to find. Hence if you can model a real life problem by an equation and solve it you are in fact using math as it’s intended- a tool to solve problems. A few thoughts before you start make sure you watch each lesson in order. As with most things in math each lesson builds upon itself. Lastly if you need to improve on previous material like positive/negative numbers or the order of operations stop the lesson and review.
